GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR APPLYING FOR A VISA TO CAMEROON

Anyone living in Canada, holding a passport other than a Cameroonian passport and wishing to travel to Cameroon must apply for an entry visa.

The High Commission of Cameroon issues four types of visas: 1.Short-stay visa (6 months) 2.Long-stay visa (6 to 12 months with supporting documents of your long stay) 3.Diplomatic visa 4.Transit visa (1 to 4 days).

The documents must be scanned and uploaded during your pre-enrolment procedure on the website https://www.evisacam.cm. Please note that photographed documents will not be accepted.

In order to apply for an entry visa to Cameroon by holders of official passports (diplomatic and service), the procedure is to send to the High Commission of Cameroon in Canada a Note Verbale together with the required documents. The online pre-enrolment will be done at the Diplomatic Mission by the consular staff. If the visa applicant lives out of Ottawa, he/she will receive in his/her email box an online Visa Authorization with a QR Code. This document allows the applicant to travel to Cameroon. Upon arrival in Cameroon, an entry visa sticker will be affixed in the passport at the airport or any other border entry point. On the other hand, the visa applicant residing in Ottawa will be notified by email or SMS to book an appointment at the High Commission for their biometric enrolment and the affixing of the visa in their passport

VISA PROCESSING TIME

  • Visa applications are processed within 24 hours for express applications and within 72 hours for standard visa applications.
  • Depending on the time of year, these processing times may take several days, as visa processing agents are required to adjust their work procedures based on the volume of applications
  • The “peak season” periods, during which the volume of visa applications is very high, run from April through August (summer vacation) and from October through December (Christmas vacation)
  • There is no need for applicants to visit the Cameroon High Commission in Canada to follow up on their visa application
  • It is important to note that the the High Commission makes it a point of honor to ensure that every visa applicant receives a response to their application before departure

VISA FEES AND PAYMENT METHOD

  • The payment of the visa application fee is ONLY done online on the website https://www.evisacam.cm, during the pre-enrollment of the user. The amounts and payment methods are specified on the platform.
