Among the Semi-Bantus, the most notable groups include the Bamileke, Gbaya, Bamoun, and Tikar.

Among the Sudanese peoples are the Fulbe, Mafa, Toupouri, Shoa-Arabs, Mundang, Massa, and Mousgoum.

Together, these communities contribute to Cameroon’s identity as one of the most ethnically diverse countries in Africa.

Languages

French and English are the official languages of Cameroon.

French is spoken by about 70 percent of the population, while English is spoken by about 30 percent.
