H.E NGOLE PHILIP NGWESE

High Commissioner of the Republic of Cameroon to Canada

H.E. Ngole Philip Ngwese was born on July 8th, 1964. He holds a degree in Public Law, an M.Phil. (DEA) in Political Science from the University of Yaoundé 1, a postgraduate diploma in civil administration from the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) Yaoundé, and a specialized diploma in administrative litigation and control from the International Institute of Public Administration Paris (I.I.A.P). Before his appointment as High Commissioner of Cameroon to Canada, he previously served as Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Secretary General of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform. Prior to that, he was Director of Legal Affairs and Litigation in the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Director of Territorial Organization in the same ministry, Director of Legislation and Regulatory Affairs at the Prime Minister’s office. He equally served as Technical Adviser to the Monitor Unit of the Land and Maritime Boarder Dispute between the Republic of Cameroon and the Federal Republic of Nigeria (the Bakassi matter). He was board chair and board member in numerous public agencies, namely: Board Chair of the Board of Directors of Cameroon Telecommunications Mobile (Camtel-Mobile); Board Chair, Tenders Board of the Ministry of Mines, Water and Energy; Board Chair Tenders Board of Crédit Foncier du Cameroun (Real Estate Bank), and Chair of the Public Service Disciplinary Board. He also served as board member of the National Civil Engineering Equipment Pool (MATGENIE), Local Government Training Center (CEFAM) and the Special Council Support Fund (FEICOM). H.E. Ngole Philip Ngwese also served as adjunct lecturer of Administrative Litigation at the National School of Administration and Magistracy, Yaoundé. He is the author of two books: Aspects of Administrative Litigation in Cameroon (Co-author), published in 2011, and In the Public Service Arena: Shady Slopes and Glimmers of Hope, published in 2023. He is fully bilingual in English and French
